God's Redemption Story (1 Kings - Ezra)Näide

Rehaboam & Jeroboam - 1/5
Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, was the first king of Israel after God split the tribes and left David’s descendants with only the small kingdom of Judah. Nineteen times the author of Kings and Chronicles introduces a new king of Israel and compares him to the first. “He was an evil king, but not as bad as Jeroboam, the son of Nebat,” or “He led the people into sin almost as bad as Jeroboam, the son of Nebat.”
I can’t help but wonder, who was Nebat? Where did he go wrong that he is remembered nearly 3,000 years later as the dad of the worst king ever in the history of Israel? More to the point, how will history remember us as parent, friends, and influencers of the world around us? Let’s represent the love of Jesus and point the world back to Him.
