Day 13: Finding Joy in the Moment
Life often feels like a juggling act where we’re constantly thinking about the next thing on our to-do list, the next milestone, or even the next challenge. During these times, we sometimes forget the Joy that can be found in the present moment.
In Matthew 6:34, Jesus encourages us not to worry about tomorrow but to focus on today. This doesn’t mean we should neglect planning or dismiss future concerns. Rather, it’s an invitation to find Joy in the ‘now,’ to appreciate the blessings we have today and to engage fully in the current moment.
Learning to live in the present allows us to experience life more fully, including the Joy that each moment can offer. When we’re present, we’re more likely to see God’s Hand in our lives and recognize opportunities for Joy that we might otherwise overlook.
Do you find it challenging to focus on the present moment? Why or why not?
What Joys are available to you today that you might be missing because you’re focused on the future?
How can being present in the moment deepen your relationship with God?
Take a few minutes today to focus on the moment you currently have. As you do, make a mental list of the Joys that are available to you right now.
