Perfection and Sin
In today's verses, we will look at the relationship between perfection and sin. Jesus said, “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect." Many relate this concept to impeccability, but if we look at the context, it is referring to the love of enemies. But on another occasion, he said to the adulterous woman, “Now go and forsake your life of sin.” Jesus had no sin, but we were born sinners. David said, “I know that I have been a sinner since I was born; yea since my mother conceived me." And Paul said, “What I do is not the good I want, but the evil I don't want to do that I keep doing.”
So how are we going to follow our master? How are we going to forsake sin? Let us ask God for a way.
