Real Hope: Character of GodNäide

Everywhere, Always
READ PSALM 139:1–18
With a family, full-time work, part-time study, ministry activities, weekend sports, kid’s parties, endless housework, and occasionally time to relax, my brain is really full most of the time! And often when I feel myself getting too full, that’s when the tears come.
We, as humans, are created with a finite amount of brain space, energy, and capacity. Yet, the God we serve is unlike us. Psalm 139 abounds in incredibly rich truths as we try to grapple with His sovereignty, His kindness, and His goodness. We just can’t imagine what it would be like to be Him (v6).
God is in every moment in time, all at once. He’s in every place on earth and beyond, all at once. Like Buzz Lightyear’s quest, he is in ‘infinity and beyond’. He is intimately knitting together an embryo for an expectant momma (v13), whilst simultaneously raising the sun to bring in a brand-new day (v9). He is inescapable, no matter how hard we try to hide (v7). He is in the light, and the darkness (v11). At the same time that He’s on the other side of the world (v9), He is also so intimately in tune with every detail of my life that He knows me better than I know myself. He knows the words I’ll choose to say before I say them (v4).
We serve a good, good God. He is everywhere, always, working for the good of those who love Him.
