Prayers for a Grateful HeartNäide

My dear Father,
I am overwhelmed—no, actually, I’m completely blown away—by your amazing love. Thank you for loving me so well, so completely. You always know what I need much better than I do, even though I arrogantly argue with you once in a while. Because you are so wise, many times you don’t give me what I ask for. I admit that sometimes that’s hard to accept. But in hindsight, I always see that you answered by giving me what I needed and not what I wanted. You love me enough to teach me to trust you by saying no or not right now to some of my requests. You care enough for me to teach me patience through painful times of waiting, knowing that eventually, I will recognize your true goodness and then learn to trust you more completely - a step at a time.
Thank you for understanding when I react with unhappiness or frustration to not getting what I want. You understand why, and you continue to give me opportunities to learn . . . to believe that you always have my best interests in mind as you work out your plan in my life. Thank you for understanding that faith is a journey for us humans. It’s a learning process. Thank you for your tender love. Thank you for your tough love. Thank you for your constant, amazing love.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever.
