In these passages, James is showing us that every good thing comes from God, and that in order to live a fruitful life we must cling to the truth of His word. When we accept and build our lives on God’s word, we begin to look more like Jesus, and everything good in our lives will flow from that new identity. The more time we spend with Him, and the more we read His Word, the better we become.

God’s word can truly transform our lives. It makes our jobs better, our families better, and even how we treat other people better. When we live our lives according to his word, everything gets better and better. When we fix our eyes on God and get closer to him, we then have access to the abundant life God has designed for us.
