Power Read The Bible In 60 Days With Jeff AndersonMuestra

Day 32
MEANINGLESS, MEANINGLESS
[Schedule Reading: Proverbs 20-31, Ecclesiastes 1-8]
Ecclesiastes is another one of my favorite books. It’s a fascinating perspective from history’s wisest person.
I like the theme (everything is meaningless). Really, I’m not a depressing person, but this book can seem that way to some. (Although I have always preferred cloudy, rainy days over sunshine and I’m not sure why.)
Mainly, I like the simplicity of which Solomon speaks.
The more wisdom, the more grief.
The more you accomplish, the less significant it seems.
Our job is really simple; enjoy your work and sleep good at night.
Things in life don’t always make sense.
One thing that should makes sense — to fear God.
I especially like the last two verses of the book (tomorrow’s scheduled read):
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
(Eccl. 12:13-14).
I actually created a song on this passage for my kids when they were young. (Sorry, I won’t sing it for you.)
