The Furnace of Affliction - Stefano Pozzo
The COVID-19 pandemic, and all the consequences that we are feeling right now, makes it feel like we are passing through a furnace. The prophet Isaiah tells us that God uses seasons like this to refine us. While the process is painful, the results will be good. At the same time, this is not a season to be passive. God is looking for us to live by faith in our time of trial and trust him for his purposes to be fulfilled.

1. God wants to remove the impurities from our lives
The heat required to melt metal drives out all the impurities and this is what trials in our lives do too.

2. God allows trials so that he is glorified
The way we respond to difficulty shines the light of Christ into the world around us.

3. Trials help us learn perseverance
Perseverance is a beautiful thing because it brings us to greater maturity.

4. God wants us to live by faith in the trial
Trials are not the time to hide away until it’s over but to press forward and do God’s will.

Remember:
I have chosen you in the furnace of affliction.
