Faithful Stewardship The truth of this parable in Luke is sobering. A nobleman has given resources to certain ones in his realm to manage in his absence. Upon his return he commands that an accounting be made of all the money that was placed in their charge. To those who earned profit, there was great reward; both were given cities to rule. But to the one who buried the money, who simply returned what he had been given, his money was taken from him with a rebuke from his lord. We do not know the day or time of the Lord's return, but each of us has been given gifts, resources, and talents to further the advance of God's kingdom. Our salvation does not depend on what we do with those gifts; however, the furthering of the kingdom of God in our world does. The Lord is coming again, and He will reward those who respond with faithful stewardship and boldness in ministry for Him. Let the gifts He has given you find their fullest fruit, multiplying blessing in His kingdom and producing unequivocal joy in your life.
