With the Great Fire of Rome and consequential uproar in the city, Christians became a convenient scapegoat and were brutally persecuted at the hands of Emperor Nero. The Apostle Paul was once again imprisoned, and facing his impending death, Paul wrote his last words to strengthen his spiritual son Timothy charging him to fulfill his calling in ministry. Paul’s life is an example to followers of Jesus in any generation.
