All About Baptism
Acts 8:35-38
Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. As they went along the road they came to
some water; and the eunuch said, “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?” And Philip said, “If you believe with all your
heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they
both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.
In communion we proclaim Christ’s death – in baptism we proclaim His life.
The WHO of Baptism

And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” v. 37

Acts 2:37-38; 41
The WHEN of Baptism

And he ordered the chariot to stop…and he baptized him. v. 38

Acts 2:41

Acts 22:16
The WHAT of Baptism

…he baptized him. v. 38
“Baptize” is “baptizo” and the word means “to dip repeatedly, to immerse or submerge.”

Mark 1:9-10; John 3:23
The WHERE of Baptism

As they went along the road they came to some water. v. 36
Baptism is not a religious act – it is a public confession of faith in Jesus Christ!

Romans 10:8-10
The WHY of Baptism

…the eunuch…went on his way rejoicing. v. 39
I belong to Christ!
I will follow Him!
I will proclaim Him!
At salvation we believe, and in baptism, we walk with God in obedience!
Romans 6:4 NLT
For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
