Two key foundations in authority for every soldier:

Source of authority - Truth; source of information
Submission to authority - Commonality of purpose
Authority - exousia - Ability and power over a domain or sphere of influence; jurisdiction; limits or territory within which authority may be exercised
Jesus was both:

Rules of Engagement - The orders issued by a competent military authority that describe in detail when, where, how, and against whom military force may be used, and they have implications for what actions soldiers may take on their own authority and what directives may be issued by a commanding officer.
Delivered - paradidōmi - To give or hand over to; to transfer or yield to someone, particularly a right or an authority
Delivered - rhuŏmai - Rescue from danger, save or free from harm or evil

Power - exousia

Conveyed - mĕthistēmi - Move from one place to another; change of state, with emphasis upon the difference in the resulting state
Submit - hypotasso - To yield to the orders or directives of others.

Resist - anthistēmi - Stand against, resist, oppose, rebel

Do we know our source of authority?
Are we submitted to the system of His authority?
