Going Deeper is designed for use with your small group, a friend or on you own. Its aim is to create time for you to spend with God and his word. Do as much or as little as you like. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact one of our pastoral staff.

1. Pray for the needs of your Life Group, for our church and our leaders, for personal and corporate renewal, and to allow God’s word to transform us.

2. This Sunday, the message in the Receiving God’s Grace series focused on Healing Grace. What thoughts or questions did the service raise for you? Which thoughts or points encouraged you or posed a challenge to you?

3. Share about healing you’ve received from the Lord in your life.

4. Read Psalm 107 out loud, pausing between stanzas for discussion. Starting in the 2nd stanza (:4),each stanza describes a specific kind of healing that God gives for a specific condition. Discuss the initial condition, what it means literally and figuratively, how God brings about the healing, and the outcome of the healing – the new, healed condition. Note what the “sick” do before the healing comes about.

5. Do you have any questions or doubts regarding God’s ability or willingness to heal any specific condition in your life or the lives of those who love?

6. Read Mark 10:46-52 out loud. What stands out to you in this passage? List everything that Bartimaeus does to receive healing. Why do you suppose Jesus asks him the question in :51? How did the sermon explain the reason why we have to ask for healing? What does the healed Bartimeaus do? That is, what does one whose blindness has been healed do?

7. Share your favorite scripture regarding God’s healing grace with the group.

8. Take a moment of silence as you consider how God is speaking to you. Do you sense an invitation to something new? What concrete steps of response do you want to take? How can your group support you in these steps?
