http://vahills.org/eventsCommunity Group Study Questions:
Spend some time prayerfully answering the following questions in preparation for this week’s Community Group discussion.
Discussion questions:
In scripture, particularly the Old Testament, names were an indicator of the person’s character:
Elimelech (God is King) Naomi (pleasant)
Mahlon (sickly)Chilion (puny)
Ruth (Friend/desirable)Orpah (stiff neck)
What does your name mean? Do you see that in yourself?
What are some choices that have “echoed” in your life?
What are some principles believers could use to help guide them in decision making?
Read Leviticus 19:9-10 and Deuteronomy 24:19-21. What provisions did God make for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow?
How could God use the church (and you) in a similar way?
What are some ways we can help those who are experiencing loss and/or hardship?
Why is it that we can always find hope in God?
