Deuteronomy 1:41-42
Deuteronomy 1:41-42 The Message (MSG)
You spoke up, “We’ve sinned against GOD. We’ll go up and fight, following all the orders that GOD, our God, has commanded.” You took your weapons and dressed for battle—you thought it would be so easy going into those hills! But GOD told me, “Tell them, ‘Don’t do it; don’t go up to fight—I’m not with you in this. Your enemies will waste you.’”
Deuteronomy 1:41-42 King James Version (KJV)
Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill. And the LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.

And the LORD said to me, ‘Say to them, “Do not go up nor fight, for I am not among you; otherwise you will be defeated before your enemies.” ’
Deuteronomy 1:41-42 New Century Version (NCV)
Then you said to me, “We have sinned against the LORD, but now we will go up and fight, as the LORD our God commanded us.” Then all of you put on weapons, thinking it would be easy to go into the mountains. But the LORD said to me, “Tell the people, ‘You must not go up there and fight. I will not be with you, and your enemies will defeat you.’ ”

And Jehovah said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.

“Then you confessed, ‘We have sinned against the LORD! If you go ahead on your own, you will be crushed by your enemies.’
