Mark 9:38

Jesus says his disciples are in the world, but not of the world. This impacts the way we relate to the people of the world we meet. We see this with Paul in Acts 17. This 5-day plan continues our journey through the book of Acts, the Bible’s gripping sequel of Jesus at work in the life of his followers as he expands his kingdom to the ends of the earth. It’s a journey on what it means to be a Christian. It’s a story in which you have a role to play.

Starting with God 5: How to Start is a 5‑day plan designed to help you encounter God through the Bible. Reading with confidence and faith. This plan encourages you to start not with self‑improvement, but with God—revealed fully in Jesus and faithfully through Scripture. You’ll explore what it means to be born again, why faith must lead to obedience, how to start reading the Gospels (beginning with Mark), and how to keep going with the whole story. No shortcuts—just a faithful beginning with Jesus.

The Lent Project is an initiative of Biola University's Center for Christianity, Culture and the Arts. Each daily devotion includes a portion of Scripture, a devotional, a prayer, a work of visual art or a video, a piece of music, and a poem plus brief commentaries on the artworks and artists. The Seven Last Words of Christ refers to the seven short phrases uttered by Jesus on the cross, as gathered from the four Christian gospels. This devotional project connects word, image, voice and song into daily meditations on these words.

“Labour to Legacy” is a devotional designed to help us see our work and professional lives from God's perspective. God designed work as a blessing, not a burden. Every believer is a Called One, created to partner with God through meaningful work in our homes, workplaces, and communities. Through Kingdom exchange, our work becomes worship, our labour becomes legacy, and our calling becomes influence. This is plan 4 of a 6-plan series.
