Matthew 10:1 – 8 Jesus sends his 12 disciples out with a mission. Later he will send 72 followers out with a similar mission (see Luke 10:1 – 9). In each case the central message is the coming of the kingdom of God, and it is signified by practical miracles that impact people’s physical, material and spiritual lives. Jesus demonstrates that the kingdom is comprehensive, and when it finally comes in its fullness, it will deal with every pain, every lack, every heartache and every brokenness in all areas of our lives.
