We have not experienced many feelings that Jesus wasn't acquainted with. Jesus felt anger, grief, sadness, betrayal, happiness, love, joy, fellowship, friendship, enemy attacks, contentment, abandonment, suffering, pain, tiredness, dread, frustration, support, and denial... the list could go on and on. Somehow, in the midst of being made human for our sakes so that we could know that He is fully acquainted with us, He still remained faithful to the obedience of God.

Why is it then that we cannot give Jesus the love and respect that He is due for His great sacrifice for us in emulating Him "in all" that we say and do? It's all a matter of choice. We are each given free will to work with. How can we align our free will with Jesus' will? We must continually renew our minds with God's Word. (Rom. 12:2)

We are given liberty in Jesus, but we aren't supposed to use that in a way that shames the Lord with our flesh. (Gal 5:13, 1 Peter 2:16)

Being a child of God does not give us permission to sin against God with our flesh whenever turmoil/strife/grief strikes. We don't get a free pass to act any way we want without repercussions. God sees and hears it all, and the words and actions cannot be retracted once put out there. Anything that speaks or acts against Scripture is a sin against God-believer or non-believer alike.

It can be hard to maintain your lane when challenged, when tired, hungry, grieved, angry, or frustrated. The best way to be an overcomer of these things is by continual practice of praying, studying, and memorizing passages from the Bible, and listening for that still, small voice that is ready and willing to guide every move if we will but take the time to BE STILL so that we "can" hear from Him. Obedience when we do hear from Him is imperative. I have been guilty of allowing myself to get so "busy" amid so much chaos that there was no room in the space for Jesus to speak. What a travesty! How many times I MISSED OUT, I am ashamed to think...

Can you find time today to be still before God, ask for His guidance, and have Him show you the right way and obey? (Psa 46:10)

Jesus is well acquainted with our suffering, betrayal, grief, and pain. There are many ways we can navigate the deep valleys of layered hurt. This plan focuses on the promise that, as followers of Christ, we do not walk these paths alone. We have countless promises to lean into and glean from to get us to the other side of our sufferings.
