Why does the church take the Lord’s Supper?
In 1 Corinthians 11, Paul recalls Jesus’ words before He went to die for our sins at Calvary. The Lord’s Table is a command to remember Christ’s death for the forgiveness of our sins.
The bread and cup are symbols. The bread pictures Jesus’ body given for us, and the cup pictures His blood shed for our forgiveness.
The Lord’s Table is not a ritual to be taken lightly. It is a time of reflection, gratitude, and renewal as we remember Christ’s sacrifice.
When you take the Lord’s Supper, examine your heart, confess your sins, and thank the Savior who died for you. A faithful church honors Christ’s death by observing the Lord’s Table.
