Is the church just a building?
In Matthew 18:20, Jesus says, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” The power of the church has never been in the pews or stained-glass windows or arched steeples. The true church is the people, those redeemed by Christ and gathered in His name.
A building may provide a place to meet, but the people inside are what matter most. You can have a church without pews, stained-glass windows, or steeples, but you cannot have a church without believers.
God dwells among His people when they come together in faith and obedience.
As much as possible, be faithful to gather, not just to sit in a building, but to join hearts and voices in worship and service. The strength of the church is not in what it looks like. It’s in who gathers there.
