Lift Your Hands

Worship is not just a moment—it’s a way of living. Paul calls us to present ourselves as a “living sacrifice,” which means surrendering our plans, desires, and control, and saying to God, “My life belongs to You.” This kind of worship pleases Him because it goes beyond words or rituals—it’s about daily surrender.

But what does Paul mean when he calls us to this kind of worship? As he expands his thought, he roots it in “the mercies of God.” Notice it’s plural. God’s mercies include every gift, every blessing, every act of forgiveness, and every breath we have been given that we do not deserve. They are signs of His kindness and love toward us.

When we truly see our lives through the lens of God’s mercies, gratitude becomes our natural response. Worship, then, is not something we manufacture—it flows out of a thankful heart that recognizes just how much God has done for us. With mercy in view, surrender becomes joy, and offering ourselves to Him becomes the most fitting act of worship.

PRAYER:

Jesus, I offer myself to You today. Thank You for Your endless mercies in my life. Help me to live each day as a sacrifice that honors You—not just in moments of worship, but in every choice I make, Amen.
