The Bible

Why is there such a huge fuss about the Bible? Why is it so important for me to have my own Bible and to read it for myself? How can I trust the Bible? As mentioned, the Bible is the only book that, when you read it, it reads you. The Bible is the oldest book in the world that has withstood the trials of time without changing or failing. The Bible is constructed of 66 books written on 3 different continents over a time of +-1600 years by approximately 40 different authors in 3 different languages. And all of them come down to one single message. The Bible is the only religious book proven to be accurate by science, architecture, history, and geography. Life as we know it today makes perfect sense when you view it through the lens of Scripture. The Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of God.

God's Spirit was the One who divinely guided the authors to write the same message for us to read. We live in a fortunate time to not only have fractions of the Word but the entire book in our hands. There is a Scripture that says the Bible is useful for training, equipping, teaching, and rebuking so we can live in a righteous relationship with God. This means that the Bible for a follower of Jesus is more than just a good study guide. It is a weapon for when we fight the good fight of faith, the truth for when we stand against the lies of the devil, the foundation for when we build our lives in Christ, the mirror to see the errors of our ways, and so much more. I have never met a follower of Jesus who lives the victorious life without reading and studying the Word of God. It is impossible.

Having the Word of God close by and studying it daily is one of the key principles any Christian should apply. The Bible is our spiritual food; you cannot survive physically by only eating a small meal once a week or twice a month. You need to consume the Word so that the Word can transform you. The Spirit of God uses the Word of God to make the child of God. When you got saved by Jesus, you were transferred from the domain of darkness into the Kingdom of light. Which means you are now under new management with a new identity. The Bible will reveal to you how to live your life under that new management so that your name can remain in the Book of Life. The Bible is one of the best gifts God ever gave to mankind, and we have a responsibility to use it and benefit from it.
