Your Seat At the Table
You still have a seat at the table?
In 2 Samuel 9, we have Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, grandson of King Saul. Moving from Lo-Debar, a very low place, to the king's table. And King David says to him, I'll restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather.
In other words, I'm gonna give you all of the things that are due to you based on you being an heir. And I believe that God is saying the same thing to me and you today. That as we sit at His table, we receive all from Him, not based on something that we did, but based on the covenant with Jesus. Mephibosheth received all based on King David's relationship and covenant with his father.
We also have a covenant with our Father based on Jesus Christ. We are supposed to receive all, but there is a caveat: if we're not careful, we will allow for experiences to shift our mindset.
Mephibosheth has an experience in 2 Samuel 4, where he was dropped. He brought that experience to the king's table. And he went from receiving all, to it now being divided with a person that manipulated him, named Ziba. He then receives nothing because he says, no, I don't want any of it. So he doesn't receive any of his inheritance. Not because he wasn't supposed to get it, not because David rejected him, but because he went from gratitude and stewardship to passivity and resignation.
Don't allow your experiences, make you miss your seat at the table. Get all of it.

The Ministry Table is a 30-day devotional plan created by and for ministry leaders. Each day, you’ll hear from a different pastor, leader, or ministry practitioner — voices from many churches, traditions, and places — offering encouragement, challenge, and wisdom drawn from their own walk with Jesus. Together, these reflections form a shared table of daily bread: a space where leaders can be fed, strengthened, and reminded that we’re not walking this road alone.
