Words of Comfort, Hope and Joy

ڕۆژی30 لە 30

Just as plants and animals need a clean environment to grow healthily, a clean social setting is vital for humans to flourish. However, such a setting is difficult to find.

The Psalmist lived in a setting where social corruption was widespread. He laments that those around him are deceitful, lying, cheating, and speaking violently. He describes their words as perilous: “A warrior’s sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree!” (Psalm 120:4, ESV). He is a lover of peace but finds himself among people who despise these values: “I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war!” (Psalm 120:7, ESV).

The modern situation is not very different; the forms and shades of deceit, lies, and deception may have slightly evolved, but the impact remains unchanged. Our politicians lie to us, those in industry mislead us with exaggerated claims, and people often lie to each other. Godly individuals stumble around, blinded by the dense fog of untruth and deception.

Just as we pray for our daily needs, good health, healing, and daily bread, it is essential to pray to God for protection from those who corrupt society with their evil ways. Only in a pure society can we flourish and grow. Pray for the people you encounter today that they will be truthful and committed to speaking only the truth.

Today, commit to praying earnestly for God’s protection against deceit and corruption in your community and society. Ask Him to cleanse the environment around you so that truth and peace may flourish.
