Words of Comfort, Hope and Joyنموونە

God created time, but He is not governed by it. God has neither beginning nor end, whereas everything He created has a start and an end. We, being finite, lack control over our time, so we rush to accomplish things within our lifetime and worry about matters beyond our reach.
God’s eternity relates to other aspects of His nature, especially His knowledge and power. He knows everything, and He can accomplish anything. He has designed everything for its own time, place, and purpose. Nothing happens outside His knowledge, and no world event can catch God by surprise. He knows how long each will persist and when they will end.
He also has the power to make things happen. Nothing is outside of his influence. The Psalmist suggests that if God can shape the earth’s crust into mountains and valleys and make water flow towards the sea, he can also govern human lives and their circumstances.
The eternity of God requires that humans trust in Him. They are small and limited. Faith that admits human limitations and recognizes God’s majesty brings believers to their knees to seek strength from His unlimited resources. Therefore, each day, we pray for his power to carry us through. “Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days” (Psalm 90:14, ESV).
