Day 5 – Praying Together

Devotional:
For many couples, the thought of praying together feels intimidating—or even awkward. Maybe you’ve tried before, and it didn’t last. Maybe your husband isn’t as comfortable praying out loud. Or maybe life is just so busy that it doesn’t cross your mind.

But here’s the truth: prayer is one of the most intimate things you can share in marriage. When you pray together, you are inviting God into the very center of your relationship. You’re not just talking to each other—you’re standing side by side, lifting your hearts to the One who knows you best.

Prayer doesn’t have to be long or fancy. It can be as simple as holding hands and saying, “Lord, thank You for our marriage. Help us love each other well.” What matters most is agreement—the two of you coming together before God.

As you begin, it may feel small or clumsy. But don’t underestimate it. Even a few minutes of prayer together can shift the atmosphere of your home, bring peace into your hearts, and open new levels of intimacy. Prayer knits your hearts together in ways nothing else can.

Lord, thank You that You are always near when we call on Your name. Help me to be bold in inviting prayer into our marriage. Teach us to pray together with simplicity and faith. Knit our hearts together as we seek You side by side. Amen.

Challenge:
Invite your husband to pray with you today—even if it’s just a short prayer before bed. If he isn’t ready, that’s okay. Start by praying for him out loud where he can hear, and let him feel the covering of your love and faith.
