Ruth—Praying When You Can’t Make It On Your Own

But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.” Ruth 1:16-17 NIV

God has designed you for community. We are not meant to walk through life on our own or in our own strength. We need each other. There are times when God sends people to help us navigate through difficult times. At other times, He sends us to help others. As we learn from Ruth today and dig into her life in the Praying with Women of the Bible plan, we need to humbly take the hand of others and let God minister to us through them.

Ruth had to learn that she was not meant to travel alone through life. When she took the hands of others and offered her hand, life took on rich meaning. She received strength from heaven and offered it to others.

Thank God for the people He has placed in your life to help carry the load you have. And remember to offer yourself to the Lord to help and serve others.
