The fact is, we are drawn to mountain vistas and scenic outlooks like the Peak, where we take our eyes off habitual sights and turn them upward and outward to distances that we don’t normally consider. In the Psalms, we are told that when we look at these glorious mountains, they remind us of God’s care for us. Grandeur in God’s created world reminds us of the grandeur of His presence in our lives to help us.

Psalm 121 testifies that He will give you the help you need, since He is the God who made everything. God is a great God – He won’t let your foot slip on the paths your life travels. God is available to you – He watches over you day and night. He constantly guards you from the harshness of life and protects your soul from harm. God never rests from this amazing, personal love for you.

Find time this week to stop and look at the mountains (or nature around you) and consider God’s love and care for you. Recall times in the past when God spoke personally to you as you faced a problem or difficult decision. Do you sense that God is actively watching over you today?
