Going All-In
What’s the boldest thing you’ve ever committed to? Maybe it was saying yes to a new job, moving to a new city, or starting a family. Bold commitments require courage, but the greatest boldness we’re called to as believers is for the Great Commission and serving those in need.
Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19-20 is clear: we are called to make disciples. This is an all-in mission that demands boldness. Few lives illustrate this better than the Apostle Paul’s.
Once a fierce persecutor of Christians, Paul’s encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-6) radically changed him. His eyes were opened to the truth of the gospel, and he experienced God’s grace and mercy first-hand. This transformation compelled him to dedicate his life to spreading the message of salvation, fearlessly preaching the gospel across cultural boundaries and into uncharted territories.
But Paul’s boldness came at a cost. He endured persecution and hardship, yet he pressed on. His unwavering commitment to the Great Commission, even in the face of imprisonment (Ephesians 6:19-20), challenges us to step out in faith and rely on God’s strength.
Boldness, however, isn’t limited to proclaiming the gospel. It’s also about serving others in love. Matthew 25:40 (NIV) reminds us that when we care for “the least of these”, we serve Christ Himself. Living boldly means stepping out to meet the needs of others, even when it’s uncomfortable, inconvenient, or sacrificial.
How committed are you to the Great Commission? Are you stepping out to serve those in need around you?
Pray for boldness in mission and service. Take one step this week, whether it’s sharing your faith, meeting a need, or encouraging someone to live boldly for God.
