Starting Strong, Staying Stronger
Have you ever felt stuck between two challenges? Needing courage to start something new or strength to keep going? Boldness isn’t just about taking leaps of faith; sometimes, it’s also about persevering when things get tough.
Moses, who was called by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, had to take a bold leap of faith to confront Pharaoh (Exodus 3:11-12). He didn’t feel ready or qualified, but God promised to be with him. Ruth, on the other hand, demonstrates bold perseverance. As a foreign widow, she courageously pledged loyalty to her mother-in-law Naomi and to God, stepping into an unfamiliar culture with unwavering faith. Though she couldn’t foresee how her story would unfold, Ruth remained faithful, trusting God to provide for their future (Ruth 1:16).
Both starting and persevering require bold faith. Starting calls for courage to step into the unknown, while perseverance demands trust to keep going and not choosing the easy way out when the road gets hard. God equips us for both when we rely on Him.
Where is God calling you to boldness right now? Do you need courage to take a leap of faith or perseverance to keep going?
Pray for the boldness to take your next step – may it be starting something new, or remaining faithful to what God has already called you to do.
