Ask Immeasurably More

We live in a world where everyone is chasing that 1% daily improvement. This approach may give us a sense of control and measurable growth, making life feel more manageable. But what happens if we apply the same mentality to our prayers? We may end up asking for the same things repeatedly, hoping for just a little better each day. Eventually, our prayer life becomes stale and predictable. So, how can we pray differently?

Today’s scripture reminds us that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. This doesn’t mean that if we ask for something, God will automatically give us much more. Instead, it points to God’s generous love, which has been revealed in Jesus Christ, especially in granting us salvation that none of us deserves. Our requests for daily provisions pale in comparison.

God desires for us to grasp the breadth, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love. He wants us to experience His love afresh each day. Ask God to surprise you with new experiences of His love, and be ready for how He answers. This can refresh your prayer life, knowing that God can work in ways beyond what you can imagine. Only by having a true, personal experience of God’s generous love can we gain the confidence to pray more boldly.

Today, take a moment to reflect: In trying to manage your expectations, how have you limited the ways God can work in your life? In your prayers today, ask God to reveal Christ’s love in immeasurably greater ways. Spend five minutes in silence to receive God’s love directly and listen for the Holy Spirit’s guidance on how you can demonstrate His love to others.
