A Heart After God: Living From the Inside Out

ڕۆژی6 لە 10

There are moments when your emotions feel like the most trustworthy guide. You tell yourself, “I just have to follow my heart,” thinking it will lead you to peace, fulfillment, or love. Honestly, your heart isn't always reliable. One day you feel confident, the next you feel unsure. You can convince yourself that something is right just because it feels good, even when deep down, you know it contradicts wisdom, integrity, or truth.

The truth is, your heart can be influenced by past wounds, insecurities, fear, or pride. Without even realizing it, you start justifying behavior, harboring hidden motives, or holding onto bitterness. That’s why it’s so important to check what’s guiding you. Are you making choices rooted in truth or in emotion? Are you acting out of love or out of fear? A heart left unchecked can slowly drift far from what’s right. But a heart brought into the light, examined with honesty, and surrendered to God can be transformed, renewed, and healed.

Think it over

What is one area of your life where you may need to examine the motives or direction of your heart?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I trust my feelings more than I should. Help me not to be led by emotions or hidden motives, but by Your truth. Show me what’s really in my heart. If there’s anything in me that’s misleading or broken, I ask You to heal and correct it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
