A Heart After God: Living From the Inside Out

Every day, your heart absorbs countless experiences, conversations, and interactions, some bringing joy, others bringing pain or confusion. It's easy to underestimate the depth to which these moments shape who you are and how you respond to life. Think of your heart like the front door of your home: you wouldn't leave it wide open for just anyone to walk through? You'd guard it carefully, ensuring that what comes in adds value, peace, and safety.

The same principle applies to your heart. Every thought, feeling, or attitude you allow inside shapes your character and ultimately, your life’s direction. Being mindful of what enters your heart isn’t restrictive, but protective. It empowers you to nurture a heart that remains healthy, strong, and aligned with what truly matters.

Think it Over

What have you allowed into your heart lately that needs to be released, and what should you intentionally welcome more of?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me become more aware of what I allow into my heart. Create within me a heart that reflects your goodness in all areas of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen
