Nicole introduces this lesson in which we meet Hezekiah, one of two kings who led God’s people through comprehensive revival and reform with religious, political, economic, architectural and even military dimensions. This king balanced prayer and dependence on God with strategy and preparation for siege.

Hezekiah: In the Text

The books of 1 & 2 Kings move from Solomon inexorably toward a moment of judgment on both kingdoms. In contrast, 1 & 2 Chronicles start in the Garden of Eden and ends with a return from exile. These books are written for different audiences and for different reasons, as we’ll come to see.
