Lord and Messiah ✝️👑

As Peter kept preaching, he started talking about someone every Jewish listener respected deeply: King David.

David was a hero—loved, admired, and remembered. But Peter said something bold: David was pointing forward to someone greater—Jesus.

Unlike David, Jesus didn’t stay in the grave. God raised him from the dead. He is alive and now reigning in heaven.

Peter and the other apostles had seen it with their own eyes.

He ends with this powerful line: “God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”
— Acts 2:36

📖 Observe

Read:
📌 Acts 2:29–36
📌 Psalm 16

As you read, ask:

  • According to Peter, how did David point forward to Jesus the Messiah?
  • In Psalm 16, what does David say about life, death, and hope?

💭 Interpret

Let’s dig in:

  • Why do you think Peter brings up David to explain Jesus’ resurrection?
  • What do these passages say about who Jesus is today?

🌱 Apply

Jesus is alive today. He’s in charge—as Lord and Messiah.

His resurrection means your hope goes beyond death.
His reign means your life can have purpose right now.

✍️ Journal Prompt: What does it mean for your life today that Jesus is both alive and in charge?
