Essential and Unshakableنموونە

How Long, O Lord?
I don’t know about you, but I’ve reached my saturation point with the news media. Enough already!
When much of the news we read is so negative, how can we greet each day with joy?
Whenever I find myself getting cynical or discouraged, I turn back to this one verse:
“Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable.” – Philippians 4:8 GW
We can’t ignore the news or the times in which we live. We are God’s ambassadors who partner with him to redeem the culture in which we live.
We must be like the descendants of Issachar:
“From Issachar’s descendants there were 200 leaders who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.“ – 1 Chronicles 12:32 GW
We must learn to embrace the tension in which we live joyfully.
As a leader or employee, you must understand the times and know what to do on behalf of the people you lead and serve.
Ask yourself:
What am I doing to prepare myself and the people I lead for the future?
For reflection:
Lord, help me to pay attention to what you are doing, understand the times, and to know what to do. Amen.
