Day 4: What If God Says ‘No’?

Sometimes, God’s healing doesn’t come in the way or time we expect. Perhaps you’ve prayed for yourself or a loved one, yet faced disappointment when healing didn’t seem to arrive. These moments can challenge our faith, but they also offer opportunities to trust God more deeply.

God’s Love Never Changes

If healing doesn’t come as we hope, it doesn’t mean God loves us any less. Ultimately, the best healing we can know is the new body promised to us in eternity. Regardless of how He heals, God’s love is unshakeable, and not one thing can separate you from it. Even when you suffer, Scripture says you are still the victor because of God’s love.

God is Always Good and Faithful

If God chooses a different kind of healing than we want, He is no less good or faithful. The Israelites sometimes complained about eating manna in the wilderness, but God revealed later that it was “to do good for them in the end.” Manna was an invitation to depend on Him daily and deepen their trust in Him. It’s when we trust Him, despite our circumstances, that we experience His peace.

Better Than Physical Healing

Is anything better than physical healing? We might not think so, but King David declared God’s love is better than life itself. God’s love for you will never cease or fade. Grasping it in new and unshakeable ways is a “good in the end” kind of gift. It’s worth “qavah-ing” for and is the best way to cope with what our bodies are going through.

What to Hold Onto

So, while you continue praying for healing, cling to the unchangeable truths of who God is. He is near the brokenhearted. He loves you with an overwhelming, everlasting love and only wants good for you. He invites you to know His goodness and trust His good purposes for your life.

Prayer

Lord, even when healing doesn’t come the way I expect, I choose to trust in Your love, goodness, and faithfulness. Help me find peace and take refuge in Your presence. Strengthen my faith and teach me to rest in You.

Encouragement

Though His answers may not always match our expectations, God’s plans are greater than we can imagine. He is with you every step of the way, loving you all the while. Keep waiting on Him, and you will find His strength and peace.
