Day 3: As You Wait for Your Healing

Waiting through suffering is one of life’s hardest challenges. We wait for pain to go away, for answers to come, for God to heal, and for visible signs that He’s doing so. And when it comes to prayers for healing, the wait can seem especially long. The space between our prayers and God’s visible answers often feels long and uncertain. Yet, this time of waiting can hold deep purpose and growth.

In the Waiting

The Hebrew word for wait is qavah. More than just passing the time, it means to wait expectantly, eagerly, and with hope. The original meaning also includes imagery of twisting or binding together, which also involves stretching, tension, and gaining strength, like when making a braid.“Waiting on the Lord” takes on new depth when we think of binding ourselves to Him while we pass time between our prayers and His answers.

This kind of waiting builds us up. When we qavah, we’re not passive; we actively bind or weave ourselves to the Lord, allowing the process to strengthen us the way a rope gains strength through the binding, tension, and stretching used to form it.

Press In and Draw Near

How do we bind ourselves to the Lord as we wait? By seeking Him intentionally. Press into His comfort and presence. Open your heart and share with Him honestly your fears, desires, and needs. Ask God to show you more of Himself. Pray not just for healing, but for His peace and strength, and to see His goodness. Pray that He will use this season to accomplish His perfect work in you according to His compassionate purposes in your life. These regular moments of intimacy with Him can bring you comfort, clarity, and renewed strength.

Prayer

Lord, as I wait for healing, teach me to bind myself to You. Strengthen me through this process and fill me with Your peace and love. Help me to see Your goodness even in my struggles and trust in Your perfect plans.

Encouragement

Dear one, this season of waiting is not wasted. God is with you, weaving His strength and grace into your life. Keep seeking Him, trusting Him, and pouring out your heart to Him. He will sustain you, and His presence will bring you the peace and courage you need.
