Trust In God's Protection

Scripture:

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
Psalm 91:4 NIV

Reflection:

There’s something tender and powerful about the way a bird protects her young. When danger comes close, she spreads her wings wide, pulling her babies underneath, shielding them from harm.

They don’t have to fight. They just have to stay close.

That’s the image Scripture gives us of God. He is like a mama bird wrapping her wing around you, shielding you from the storm.

God doesn’t promise that storms won’t come, but He promises to be our shelter in the middle of them. He keeps us safe and secure. In complete peace.

You don’t have to figure it all out or stand strong on your own. Just stay close to Him.

He is strong enough to guard you, and gentle enough to comfort you.

Journaling Prompt:

What’s making you feel vulnerable or unsafe right now?

How does it change your perspective to imagine yourself hidden under God’s wings?

Prayer:

God, cover me with Your protection. Let me feel safe in You. Amen.

Practical Tip:

If you’re feeling anxious, you can create a sensory experience of God’s wing covering you. Sit under a blanket and imagine yourself under God’s wing of protection. Simple awareness of His presence is a great source of comfort.
