Attributes of God on F.I.R.E.نموونە

How can we imitate the attribute of Goodness?
Goodness characterizes the essence of God, and it becomes our obligation to display this communicable attribute. As believers, we are called to be visible examples of God’s goodness, reflecting His nature to others.
Following on the heels of the classic teaching that we are saved by grace through the means of faith (Ephesians 2:8–9), Paul stresses the importance of post-salvation works. Paul indicates, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
Your good deeds demonstrate His goodness. These works are not merely acts of charity but demonstrate God’s nature by being benevolent, profitable, and useful to others. In the book of Titus, Paul instructs Titus to model good works (Titus 2:6-7), emphasizing the importance of living a holy life in anticipation of Christ’s return (Titus 2:11-14). Such actions provide a pattern for others to follow and highlight the transformative power of God’s grace.
Saints are to be displayers of God’s benevolence and goodness. John exhorts believers to imitate what is good, as those who do good reflect God’s character (3 John 11). This moral integrity stems from walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-18). Continuing in Galatians, Paul gives nine Fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). They are a package deal for Spirit-controlled saints. The sixth virtue consists of goodness.
Galatians 6:10 encourages believers to seize opportunities to do good to everyone, showcasing God’s care and provision through their actions. We are to show to both the saved and unsaved alike the perfection of God’s goodness through our caring for the needs of others. This calling not only glorifies God but also serves as a powerful witness to both believers and non-believers, drawing others to experience His goodness firsthand.
Employment Point: Illustrate the goodness of God.
