God Brings Life

The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” -John 11:44

The Promise: God brings life.

God only has life and fullness. He is power and strength, and even the seasons of death for us are life in Jesus. You are growing, you are coming alive. Slowly but surely, your mind is restoring, your fear is fading, and the Lord is lovingly shaping your body, mind, and spirit to stand in certainty with who you are as His child, and to know in greater depth the wonder and awe of His character. God only has life in full for you; Jesus promises this. Take off your grave clothes and go.

Try This: Shower Time

Give yourself a little extra time at the end of the day and draw a soothing shower. Let the steam fill up the bathroom, step into the stream coming down. Allow the hot water to wash over you, relax your muscles, massage your tense body. Let go of all the stress. Listen to the showerhead release the water, the pattern the drops make as they hit the tub. Stay quiet and pay attention to the sounds and feel of the shower, or sing a song of worship or prayer. Release your tension and linger in the warmth and delight of the light pressure of water droplets against your skin.
