The Parable of the Sower – 1
In this parable, we see various reasons why some people who begin the Christian race do not complete it.
The first reason is illustrated by the seed falling on rocky ground: this speaks of problems and persecution (Matthew 13:20-21; Mark 4:16-17; Luke 8:13).
The problem stems from the lack of roots to ensure proper nutrition. We must encourage new believers to establish roots in the local church and deepen their spiritual life, day by day, through God's Word and prayer.
It's important to keep in mind that problems will come, but we can overcome them with the Lord's help (John 16:33; Acts 14:22; Mark 10:29-30).

The Bible compares the Christian life to a race in Hebrews 12:1. Unfortunately, many people approach it as if it were a sprint, in which a quick start counts, or a middle-distance race to run smoothly. The real comparison is with a marathon, where various things and people are trying to slow us down or stop us. We must approach the race with the right mindset and with the knowledge that God provides us with the means to go all the way. What a tragedy it would be to abandon the race when victory is certain!
