Day 16: The Disciples in the Storm – Strength to Trust in the Chaos
Scripture: Mark 4:35-41
Key Verse: “He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down, and it was completely calm.” – Mark 4:39
The disciples were seasoned fishermen familiar with the sea. Yet when a violent storm arose, they panicked. Meanwhile, Jesus was asleep in the boat. In their fear, they cried out, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
Jesus awoke, spoke to the wind and waves, and instantly, there was peace. Then He asked them, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
Life’s storms can make us feel like God is silent or distant, but He is always in control. He may not always calm the storm immediately, but He is present. His strength is not just in His ability to change our circumstances but in His power to give us peace amid them.
Prayer Focus: Ask God for the strength to trust Him in life's storms, knowing He is with you and has power over every circumstance.

Jesus told us that our weariness comes from carrying a burden that is too heavy for us. Instead, we are supposed to give our problems, cares, and concerns to Him and allow Him to give us the strength to do what He asks. He will teach us to do this over the next 30 days because He is humble and gentle at heart. God's word will show us examples of people throughout scripture who put their burdens in His hands and found rest for their souls.
