While I'm Waiting
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Psalm 27:14
Lord,
Why did You tell me no? This desire of my heart was something I ache for, Jesus. It feels as if I’ve been waiting forever for this to fall into place, and after years of praying, Your answer is no. I hate having to tell people this dream is no longer within reach, that You’ve closed the door. Even though You are the One who closed the door, it feels as if I’m the one who has failed.
But I find joy in Your Word telling me to wait for You. For Your deliverance, for Your wisdom, and for Your help. You command me to be strong and let my heart take courage. And so I find joy in waiting for You, Lord. I believe that I shall look upon Your goodness, Lord, in the land of the living. Yes, this is my reason for joy! What more could I ask for? Nothing else on this earth could bring me such joy! Yes, I will wait for Your deliverance and take courage in this life knowing eternity with You is awaiting me. Thank You for this reminder from Your Word, Lord. Thank You for the joy You provide in this eternal perspective!
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
