Day 4: The Spiritually Broken Hearted
One day, I was reading about John the Baptist. The scripture said He came out of the wilderness and survived on honey and locusts. When I saw honey, I felt a kick in the spirit. To have honey, you must have bees, and bees must have pollen from flowers to make honey. So, in John’s wilderness, there were flowers, which means there is beauty in the wilderness. This shifted my perspective of the wilderness. Being in the wilderness removes the influences of the world. No one else is there except you and God.
Some of you may be in a wilderness season now. Let me remind you, He sees you and He is with you. Let this be a season, you learn to seek Him in everything you do. Invite Him to show you any spiritual heart defects you might have. He desires to pour His love out on you. Let Him.
Reflection:
You are in a wilderness, and it is called an ICU. In this moment, reflect and look for Him. If you look for negativity, you will find it. Instead, shift your eyes to Him. Write the names of the staff members who are kind and gentle with their words. Did anyone smile at you today? Did you get to hold your baby or hear their cry? Find something positive and write it down. Then simply say, “Thank you, Father.”
