How can parents help their children grow in the Lord?

Joseph and Mary were young parents. No doubt they were learning and, at times, wondering what to do. One thing we notice in Scripture is that they were fully surrendered to God’s leadership in their home. In two separate places, the Bible tells us that they were showing Jesus the way of the Lord. They made much of God, His Word, and His plan.

How can parents keep God’s Word and plan at the forefront of parenting decisions? How can parents show their children the ways of God? How can a parent reading scriptures with their children impact the child as they grow older?
