Under Pressure
There’s a big difference between temptation and trials. Many think they’re the same. The first gives you a choice, but both allow you to trust God deeply. Our enemy, Satan, uses temptations to try to convince us we don’t really have to follow God’s instructions. He wants us to fail. When we fail, he quickly suggests that God could never love someone who sins. He’s lying. Trials are struggles that seem too big to handle. This might be the loss of a job or home. It could be an impossible health issue. God’s Word says He gives us everything we need to resist temptation. We endure by following His instructions. The same is never promised for trials. So next time you hear that God doesn’t give you anything you can’t handle, remember that He actually does. Sometimes, the only one who can rescue us from our trials is God. If we could do it ourselves, we wouldn’t need Him.
Prayer: Dear God, You’ve equipped me to resist temptation. You can rescue me from the most difficult trials I’ll face. You’ve given gifts that can’t be bought. You must really love me. Thanks. Amen.
