Devotions to Conquer Anxiety and Depressionنموونە

Love in the Dark
This is a familiar and beautiful passage. The Lord will always show you loving-kindness. He will never cease to have compassion on you. He is forever faithful. And yet, if you are going through a time when God’s love seems farther away than it’s ever been, you may think these sentiments are only for those who are experiencing good things in their lives. Though these verses are familiar, they are almost always taken out of context. These verses are a small island of hope in an otherwise desolate chapter. The author of these verses is suffering deeply. He is greatly afflicted and nearly without hope. But even in the deepest pit of despair he has the experience to back up his claims that God’s love has never ceased from his life. When you go through a dark period in your life, be encouraged by the testimony of this fellow child of God. God is not a fair-weather God who abandons you when the going gets rough. His love will find you and carry you through the darkest and most soul-wrenching of trials. You can have the same faith and unwavering confidence in His compassion that you have in the fact that the sun will rise in the morning. There is hope even in the darkest place.
Prayer: Lord, may I experience Your compassion in amazing ways so that I too can have faith in Your love in the midst of trials.
