Trying to Change Others
Have you ever been in a rough season of a relationship and wondered, How can I get this person to change? It’s a tempting thing to think about... If I could only fix this one thing about them…everything would work out.
But, the hard truth is, we can’t make others change. We can only choose how we want to respond, grow, and change ourselves. How do you think God would want you to behave when your relationships are struggling?
Proverbs 15:1 says…
A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare.
Will you pray about this today? Ask God to help you see your friend or spouse through His eyes. His eyes of love, mercy, and grace. Let Him show you where you’ve been wrong and need to ask forgiveness. Connecting with God’s heart will help you make wise and loving decisions. He will not fail to guide you in your relationships.
