Holy and Worldly
In today's verses, we will look at the relationship between holiness and worldliness. Holiness is a concept foreign to us. God is holy, and He sanctifies some things to belong to Him and serve His purposes. These things are separate from the others. God has sanctified some days, and some places, and calls us to be holy. However, Jesus, the son of God, came down to Earth to eat and drink with sinners and to be despised and condemned. His mission seemed not to be in harmony with His nature. As He ascended into heaven, He gave us this task:
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Let us ask God to guide us in how to fulfill this mission, whether it is separating us or mingling with the world.
